Is It a Good Time to Buy or Sell?
This sounds like a simple question, but there are many factors involved in answering it: a seller's preparation and motivation, the available buyer pool, mortgage rates, and more.
But one major factor can make every other consideration less important: the current real estate market.
Numbers are useful, but what do they mean? What story do they tell? How do we know whether we're in a buyer's market or a seller's market—and why does that matter?
I created How's Your Market? to give buyers and sellers a quick, direct way to begin answering those questions.
It seemed to me that there was no simple, reliable source for local market information that explained not only the numbers, but also what they meant and what kind of market we were in. The statistics on this site come directly from OneKey® MLS, the Multiple Listing Service for Long Island.

I'm a Licensed Real Estate Associate Broker, and I've been involved in the real estate business for more than 20 years. My experience includes working as a real estate agent, managing an office, mentoring agents, serving as a Director of Agent Services, and being approved by New York State as a real estate instructor.
I have always been interested in what makes a good agent—and what qualities describe a great one. I believe a great agent should have the heart of a teacher and should make education about the market and the real estate process a foundation of their business.
Choosing an Agent
Although I have not been actively selling recently, I have built a large network of carefully selected, experienced agents. This allows me to help eliminate one of the most difficult parts of the buying and selling process: choosing an agent.
Some real estate websites connect consumers with an agent simply because that agent paid for a particular position. My goal is different. I will use my professional judgment to connect you with an experienced, licensed agent who may be a good fit for your needs.
If a referral results in a transaction, I may receive compensation from the participating brokerage. You are free to evaluate the referred agent and decide whether that relationship is right for you.
